º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓÆµ to hold Convocation Aug. 21
The University of Louisiana at Monroe will host its annual Convocation Ceremony to officially kick-off the academic year, beginning at 4:40 p.m., Wednesday, Aug. 21, at the º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓÆµ Library Kitty DeGree Bell Tower.
Students, faculty, and staff will march from the library to Fant-Ewing Coliseum where they will enjoy the Convocation program beginning at 5 p.m.
The program will include new º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓÆµ chants and cheers, the Sound of Today marching band, Ace the Warhawk, º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓÆµ Administrators, and the freshman class of 2013.
º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓÆµ alum Jesse Blair will be the keynote speaker.
Blair, a 2006 graduate of º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓÆµâ€™s College of Business, is the current Director of Capital Development for InterMountain Management.
According to his biography, Blair joined InterMountain Management in 2012.
Most recently, he worked for RNC Genter Capital Management, a $4 Billion, Los Angeles based money manager.
After receiving various promotions in his tenure, he was promoted to Vice President and Director in the firm’s Institutional Division, aiding in the firm’s fund-raising efforts, where he collectively raised roughly $800 million in new assets.
